Continental Airlines presented nearly 100 personal computers amounting to about $72,800 to five public schools on Guam.

The donation consists of 91 Compaq computers. Each computer is about two years old and will come with Microsoft Windows ’95 software.

The computers will be presented to the John F. Kennedy High School; C.L. Taitano, Agana Heights, J.Q. San Miguel and M.U. Lujan elementary schools.

Staff Vice President of Sales and Promotions Walter Dias said that as the hometown airline on Guam, Continental’s donation of the PCs to local schools was a natural more for the island’s large private employer.

“Supporting education on Guam is important to us, given the size of our organization and the fact that a great number of Continental employees on Guam have children enrolled in our schools,” said Mr. Dias.

He added that by giving the computers to schools, Continental is doing its part to help educate Guam’s youth, “and that’s very critical. We’re proud to be able to make this donation to the students of the students of these fine schools.”
