Visminda bounced back from a sorry loss to CMS Negros with a 92-82 whipping of Kiosk-San Roque last Saturday in the Samahang Ilokano at Pangasinense Basketball League in the CMS Court.

Drawing big games from streak shooter Sonny Ranola and Errol Peredo, Visminda pulled away in the fourth and final period to notch its fifth win in six games.

Leading by just a measly six markers at the end of three quarters, Visminda pushed on all cylinders in the last 10 minutes of the ballgame to pull out the victory.

Ranola and Peredo each fired 9 points in Visminda’s pivotal fourth quarter run that all but frustrated Kiosk-San Roque’s repeated attempts to rally.

The 5-foot-8 Ranola went on to topscore for his team with 25 points, while Peredo was good for 16 markers.

In their 88-77 loss to Negros a week ago, Ranola and Peredo were limited to 24 points altogether.

Veteran power forward Danny Bicera was also a source of strength inside in the game against Kiosk-San Roque as he scattered 15 points.

National hopeful Edsel Mendoza paced Kiosk-San Roque with a game-high 30 points, while former collegiate standout Ed Palma tossed in 28.

The second game of the doubleheader last Saturday pitting slumping Jollibee against Negros was postponed due to rain.

In Sunday’s first game, Bicol was up 67-56 against 3’s Auto Parts when play was stopped with 7:05 to go once again due to rain.

When the game was resumed Wednesday night, Bicol bucked the absence of shooting guard Pando Muleta to prevail 82-66.

Swingman Junar Guiab carried the fight without the injured Muleta as he finished with 23 points, while Gilbert Espinosa led 3’s Auto Parts with 17 markers.

Sunday’s second game featuring Shell and Cabalen Servicestar was also postponed because of the downcast weather.

In last Wednesday’s other make-up game, 3’s Auto Parts won by default against CMS Negros after the latter dressed up only four players for the game.
