Blue Jays rally to beat Ol’Aces

The Dandan Blue Jays rallied from being down by as much as 5 runs to beat a tough Ol'Aces squad, 9-8, in yesterday's Major Little League Baseball action at the Susupe softball field.

The Dandan Blue Jays rallied from being down by as much as 5 runs to beat a tough Ol’Aces squad, 9-8, in yesterday’s Major Little League Baseball action at the Susupe softball field.

Ol’Aces were the first to get on the scoreboard as they posted 2 runs in the opening inning. With pitcher Jacob Babauta on base, Isaiah Wabol stepped up to the plate and smacked a single enabling Babauta to score. Wabol would later score on a Blue Jays error.

In the third inning, slugger Shane Yamada connected for a 2-run double, allowing Mariano Lisua and Byron Cruz to score.

The Blue Jays finally came to life in the bottom half of the third inning as they scored an amazing 6 runs to take the lead.

Nathan Kintol started the scoring spree as he crossed home plate on a fielder’s choice. Jon Salas and pitcher Ian Fleming, A.J. Babauta, Mario Sablan, and Kayla Techur would score 5 more runs as the Blue Jays took a 6-5 lead.

The Ol’Aces squad would then retaliate with 2 more runs in the top half of the fifth inning. Yamada would provide his squad another offensive outburst as he tied the game up with a 2 run single.

The Blue Jays would however post another run in the bottom half of the inning as Marvin Rabauliman scored on yet another error by the Ol’Aces defense.

With the bases loaded, Babauta would get 2 consecutive strikeouts. He then attempted a pick off on Kintol, who was at third, but it was unsuccessful as Kintol took advantage and scored the winning run.

Fleming went 2-for-3 at the plate with a triple and 2 runs, while Kintol contributed by also scoring twice for the Blue Jays.

Yamada had a perfect day at the plate going 3-for-3, a double and 2 runs. Lisua also had a solid outing going 3-for-3 at the plate and scored twice in a losing effort.

In the first game of the afternoon, the Tanapag Braves remained undefeated as they beat the Fielders, 12-0. Marley Techur was perfect at the plate going 3-for-3 and scored 2 runs for the winners.

Pitcher Nunu Kapileo went the distance for the Braves, striking out 7 batters while allowing only 2 hits.

Thorn Sablan had a solid outing for the Fielders as he went 2-for-2 at the plate.

In the second game, the Rockies came out with a 15-0 beating over the San Roque/As Matuis Twins.

Nick Muna led the Rockies offensive attack going 2-for-3 at the plate, with 3 runs batted in and 3 runs scored. He also connected for a triple. Teammate Nicolas San Nicholas contributed with 3 hits, including a double, and scored a run for the winners.
