State-of-the-art office equipment unveiled

Island Business Systems and Supplies unveiled an array of multi-function office equipment in the first ever Technology Convergence held at the Hyatt Regency Saipan Friday.

The First Technology Convergence showcased a variety of business and office equipment, as part of efforts to educate Saipan’s businesses on the newest and modern information technology tools in the market.

IBSS Guam/Saipan Manager Marie Hannelie M. Mendoza said that with the continued growth of businesses—both in Guam and Saipan—comes the need for efficient, cost-saving and office solution office equipment.

“This is timely, especially during these hard economic times that businesses—growing and existing—to look for equipment that is efficient, cost effective, and multi-function, which will help them to be more productive,” said Mendoza in an interview.

She said technology advancement also calls for other businesses to be connected with other parts of the globe.

“Saipan is keeping up with the rest of the world and Saipan should not be left behind especially for those businesses that interact with other companies abroad. These equipment will enable them to do that,” said the manager.

The 2002 Technology Convergence featured top of the line office equipment produced and marketed by Canon, which is exclusively distributed by the IBSS on Saipan.

IBSS, a division of Jones and Guerrero Company, featured the newest scanner, colored copiers, multi-function copiers, image runners such as IR5000 and IR3250, which are both Image Platform technology that send off information through different modalities.

Saipan Operations Manager Marie Babauta said the equipment ensure convenience, fast productions, and less manpower.

“A one multi-function equipment is a space saver, user-friendly,” she said adding that IBSS provides basic training, suppliers, maintenance, parts and repairs.

Babauta said breakdown is limited and downtime operation will be lesser.

She explained that participants to the Technology Convergence are from private and public offices on the island who see the need to cut operational costs by using multi-function office equipment without sacrificing productivity.

At least 50 prospective customers arrived on the whole-day exhibit held at the Chinese Restaurant. The Technology Convergence was held in efforts to disseminate information to the business sector on Saipan.
