The Relay For Life events is the Commonwealth’s largest fund-raiser in the fight against cancer. Participants of the Relay For Life are encouraged to walk, run, or even dance around the relay course over a 12-hour period. In addition to the actual relay event, there will be other enjoyable activities throughout the night and on into the morning, including musical entertainment, dance performances and the Relay favorite, the Bingo For Life. This year’s Relay committee has set a goal to raise at least $75,000.
The Relay For Life also honors cancer survivors and those lost through a special survivor’s lap at the beginning of the race and during a service featuring hundreds of candles placed around the track. It is an unforgettable ceremony honoring those who have won the fight against cancer and remembering those who are no longer with us.
