40 San Antonio students mark new milestone
“Technology leads you to a better education,” was the theme for the graduation ceremony held at the San Antonio Elementary School Tuesday evening.
In line with this, four graduating students took the stage to present their 6th grade video diary. Kelsey Lizama, Antonette Castro, Joreen Pangelinan, and Kiara Mafnas took turns with the microphone while clips of the students flashed on the screen.
The graduates filled the grounds with laughter and excitement as they recalled the fun times they had in their last year in San Antonio Elementary.
PTA president Sia M. Dela Cruz, Erik Evangelista, vice principal of Koblerville Elementary School; and PSS Finance Director Richard Waldo presented awards to the students. Assisting them was Board of Education member Marja Lee C. Taitano, who represented Education Commissioner Rita Inos in the event.
Teachers stood by the podium to announce the several awardees, including academic and perfect attendance honorees.
Graduating with B-honors were 18 students; A-honors, 10; Perfect Attendance, 21; Excellent Self-Control, 7; and Overall Perfect Attendance, 4.
The Reader of the Month award was given to Holly Medina and Hazel Palacios. Receiving the Reader of the Year award was Pedro Duenas. The Commissioner’s Award was granted to Elsiana Taitano while Michelle Fujihira received the Principal’s Award.
From the Public School System, Taitano presented an award to the school for its hard working teachers, staff, and parents in recognition for exceptional leadership shown in the school year. (Cassie Dlg Fejeran)
