Tatagas take another step to higher education
Sixth grade students at Tanapag Elementary School spent their last day at the school grounds yesterday being honored and recognized for the hard work and effort put into attaining junior high school.
The sixth grade cast received their well-deserved certificates of appreciation in front of parents, teachers, administrators, guests, and other grade level students of the school.
Various awards were also presented to the group including the Gold and Silver Presidential awards, Honor awards, Perfect Attendance, Principal’s awards, and the Commissioner’s Award.
After producing the highest Grade Point Average from fourth to sixth grade, it was only appropriate that Crystal Seidler was honored with the Commissioner’s Award.
Kimo D. Omar and Nani Mau Eugenia DLC. Hussey posted identical GPA’s, resulting in both being the proud recipients of the Principal’s Award.
“These are all hardworking kids,” said vice principal Escolastica Iguel. “They are very studious and are eager to learn. They are school leaders and student leaders of the student body, and they look forward to further their education.”
The school also presented awards to students from other grade levels.
“The children and staff are very happy,” said Iguel. “A big “Good Job” goes to all the Tataga awardees.”
Iguel said the sixth grade students have conducted fundraisers throughout the school year to raise funds for a day of celebration at the Pacific Islands Club. Instead of having a farewell ceremony, the group decided to spend the last day of being grade school students together at the PIC water park today.
Yesterday’s ceremony also featured award presentations to teachers for their contributions in the molding of the students.
