Free graphics workshop for small biz owners
Are you thinking about trimming your business costs and doing more advertising and public relations work in-house? Are you thinking about accomplishing this task with that new computer you recently purchased but need some help getting started?
If you want hands on experience you’ll want to attend the Computer Graphics for Small Business Owners workshop that is being offered during the 7th Annual June Small Business Development Month in the CNMI. The workshop is one in a four part business series sponsored by the NMC Small Business Development Center and Commonwealth Development Authority.
This is hands-on workshop in a computer lab where attendees will the learn the principles of the graphic design process, understand the basic features, guidelines and formats of type and images, the proper use of frames, boxes and borders, page layout, and work with text, objects, frames, color, in creating professional-looking publications in Microsoft Publisher.
Larry Lee, who is the full-time business and tourism instructor at Northern Marianas College, will present the workshop. He also owns and operates an advertising and graphic design firm in Saipan that has been in business for over fourteen years. The firm produces artwork, photographs, and promotional materials for the Marianas Visitors Authority, Pacific Islands Club Saipan, Marianas Beach Press magazine, Beach Road magazine, and Northern Marianas College.
Lee received a Global Master of Business Administration from National University in 2004, and a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Oregon State University in 1983.
Lee’s free-to-the-public workshop will be held on Saipan from 6pm to 9pm on Tuesday, June 8, at NMC in Building W, Room 2 (Computer Lab). Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. and space is limited so please telephone Robert Suzuki at 235-1551 to reserve your seat.
