Thank you
Typhoon Sudal did not spare anyone in Yap when it descended on the island on Good Friday (April 9, 2004). Almost all the buildings were either partially or totally destroyed. Among them were my sister’s house (which was totally destroyed) and three brothers’ houses (which sustained major damages). I worried and ached for them and their families, as well as the people of Yap.
However, their losses and suffering were eased a bit by the kindness and generosity of so many people from all over the region. I thank all who contributed and donated goods (and are still doing so) to help the people of Yap. The destruction was horrendous. I know they do need and appreciate the assistance very much.
I would like to especially extend, on behalf of all my families and relatives, our heartfelt ” THANK YOU”, “MESULANG”, and “SI YUUS MAASE” to the following who contributed to my family and relatives in one way or another:
Randy Schmitd and Marcia Shultz, Angie Iba and family, Dave L. Price and family, Wendi Herring (via Henry Worswick IV), Elias and Johana Okamura, Marian Tudela, Donna J. Cruz, Frank S. Rosario and family, Sandra, Benaya, Ben, Toribiong, Jeda, and others at Continental Cargo for their kindness and assistance KAM’MAGAR from the bottom of our hearts, for your kindness, generosity, and most especially your friendship.
With much appreciation,
Gloria W. Hunter
