Son avenged his loss to top seed Jeff Race in the men’s open doubles by outplaying him in the singles final. Son beat Race, 6-4, 4-6, 7-5, in a three-hour, 15-minute marathon Monday.

On Sunday, Halstead triumphed against 35 other bowlers to become the 22nd Annual May Masters Tournament champion. Halstead rallied to beat Ronald Epan for the title. Third-place went to Jonathan Duenas of Guam.

Pacifica Pirates, meanwhile, fashioned out a 13-10 win over Ace Hardware to lift the championship Saturday. A day later, Sunday, Ol’Aces routed the KMCV Aztecs, 15-4, to top the 13-14-year-old age group.
