Spiders, Saints victorious
Spiders won their sixth game in nine starts, while the Saints leveled their win-loss record in the continuation of Island-wide Village Youth Basketball League the previous week.
Last Friday at the Garapan court, the CK Kings had trouble keeping up with the eight-legged freaks in the payoff period and lost 32-40.
It was a tight game all the way but Calvin Fejeran and Ryan Manglona lifted the Spiders in the final eight minutes of play to the chagrin of Chalan Kanoa.
Manglano and Fejeran paced the web-slingers with 14 and 12 points, respectively, while Manuel Ajoste led the Kings losing cause with a game-high 17.
Saints, meanwhile, blew winless Local Boys out of the water with a 30-point victory Thursday also at the Garapan court.
Local Boys had trouble putting the spheroid through the hoop in the first half and trailed 16-6. They were even more putrid in the third managing only a bucket.
They did score 10 in the final quarter but the Saints by then had piled up a big fat 48 on the scoreboard.
Larry Sugiyama was the high-point man for the Saints with 18, while Marson Martin pumped in 6 for Local Boys.
