Scholarship Office sets deadlines
Please note the following important deadlines for the types of financial assistance that are available to students:
June 30 Public Law 7-32 as amended by Public Law 11-77
Applications & all supporting documents must be received.
July 1 Fall quarter/semester Teacher Scholarship and EAP applications must be received or postmarked. Supporting documents must be received within 30 calendar days from the 1st day of instruction. You may obtain an application by:
• Visiting our office located at Capitol Hill Government Building #1311.
• Downloading the application through www.cnmischolarship.com
Applications submitted for Fall 2004 is applicable for Spring/Winter 2005.
Supporting documents needed:
• Most recent official sealed transcript
• Acceptance letter into a recognized US Accredited Institution
• US Passport and/or Birth Certificate from the Court
• SAT scores (for PL 7-32/PL 11-77)
• Recommendation letter from high school (for PL 7-32/PL 11-77)
• Note: CNMI 1040 Tax forms may be required should your official transcript fail to prove residency requirement
• 2002 & 2003 1040 Tax form (for PL 7-32/PL 11-77 & EAP)
• 2001, 2002 & 2003 1040 Tax form (for Teacher Scholarship (PL 10-58/PL 11-34)
• Register with the CNMI Election Commission www.votecnmi.com
• Other required supporting documents may be requested
Programs administered
Public Law 7-32 Scholarship as amended by Public Law 11-77: This is awarded to graduating high school students with the highest scholastic achievement from each island. The selection is made from the top two students from the islands of Tinian and Rota, four from the island of Saipan, and two from off-island if they meet the criteria set by law.
Public Law 10-58 Scholarship as amended by Public Law 11-34, known as the “Teacher Scholarship”: The “Teacher Scholarship” is awarded to Juniors and Seniors in the field of Teaching including Early Childhood Development and Special Education.
Educational Assistance Program (EAP): This is awarded to students enrolled in an accredited institution pursuing a certificate, associate degree or bachelor’s degree who meet set criteria as stated in the policy. In addition, financial assistance may be offered to the following programs; on-island undergraduate part-time assistance, undergraduate merit incentive and graduate & professional assistance. Funding is contingent upon availability of funds.

Tinian Municipal Scholarship
Provides financial sssistance to students from Tinian and Aguiguan who are pursuing under-graduate or graduate degree at U.S. accredited institutions in and outside of the Commonwealth.

CNMI Refaluwasch Scholarship
Charted since 1994. The Carolinian Affairs Incorporated is a non-profit organization charged to promote programs that will benefit the Carolinian Community in the CNMI. Its propose is to provide supplemental funds to eligible Carolinian students wishing to pursue post-secondary studies. This includes graduate and professional studies.
