CPA hires new Tinian ports manager

The Commonwealth Ports Authority has selected Ignacio L. Perez, to serve as the new Tinian Ports Manager.

The former ports manager, Edward Sanchez, officially retired from CPA on March 12, 2004.

The CPA Board of Directors, which unanimously voted for Perez during its regular meeting on May 14, 2004, took into consideration Perez’ extensive educational background and experience in the airport/airline industry, having worked for the Guam Airport Authority, Pacific Island Aviation, and Guam Air Terminal Services.

Perez, a retired member of the U.S. Air Force, is also a licensed pilot with over 25 years of administrative management experience.

He holds a masters’ degree in Management and in Public Administration from Webster University, Missouri.

Perez said he looks forward to the challenges of operating the new Tinian International Airport and the Port of Tinian.

Perez will officially start his new job on June 14, 2004.
