Ken Coutere and Boyet Sequioco dominated last week’s billiards competition at Round Two Bar and Grill in Garapan.

In a contest held last June 13, Coutere got the better of Donald Kapileo in the finals to complete an undefeated championship run in the Sunday Winner-Take-All Fun Tournament.

The evening finished like it started with Coutere emptying the table first and holding up his cue stick in victory.

He was one of five players to get a bye in the first round. Coutere then made his debut against Charlie Peters and won. He followed that up with victories over Nathan Palican and Joe Shaffer and finished first in the winners bracket.

With the twice-to-beat advantage already in the bag, Coutere watched as Shaffer was upset by Kapileo, who as it turned out, also was no match against Coutere.

The win was worth $55 for Coutere. Other pool players that participated Sunday were Jean Navarro, David Peter, Mark Vidal, Al Conaster, Curtis Newman, and Emi Palican-Peter.

Sequioco, meanwhile, reigned supreme in the Miller Lite Invitational 8-Ball Tournament last Thursday at the pioneering sports bar.

The Olangapo, Philippines native also was unscathed in winning the title, which he won over sure-shot Jerry Soriano.

Sequioco needed only three wins to reach the finals as he also got a bye in the opening round. He beat Gene Sablan in his first trip to the green felt table then took out Henry Sasaki in the second round.

He outplayed Soriano in the players’ first meeting of the evening then repeated the victory in the championship. Soriano topped losers bracket play with a win over Senen Pangilinan.

Sequioco earned $65 for the victory, while Soriano took home $40. David Peter and Ken Coutere complete the seven players that graced the Thursday gig.

There was no tournament held Tuesday night.
