The Department of Public Health announced the arrival of a new addition to their medical staff, with pediatrician Dr. Nedka Mandoff joining the Commonwealth Health Center’s family of doctors.

As of Saturday, July 3, Mandoff has been working through the Children’s Clinic located at the CHC, as well as at the inpatient pediatrics.

Mandoff is originally from Sofia, Bulgaria where she attended both medical school and medical residency. Upon completing her residency, Mandoff ventured to work in high-need areas such as the refugee camps in Libya and Italy. She practiced emergency and ambulatory care in these locations with little medical infrastructure, providing vital medical services to often-disadvantaged populations.

Mandoff later moved to Canada where she practiced medicine for many years, becoming board certified in both Canada and the United States.

She spent majority of her time in Canada working at Cambridge Memorial hospital where she was a practicing pediatrician for 16 years.

Mandoff is looking forward to discovering the natural beauty of the CNMI, and should find the island a perfect fit as she enjoys traveling and hiking.

“The DPH would like to thank Dr. Mandoff for joining our community as a physician healer, and offer her a warm welcome to the Commonwealth,” according to a DPH statement.

Appointments to see the doctor may be made through the Women and Children’s Clinic by calling 236-8374.
