The organizers of the 11th Annual Tom Picarro Memorial Fun Run donated $795 in proceeds to the Guma Esperanza Battered Women’s shelter last week in what has become a tradition associated with the event.

Better known as the Silver Streak, the 4.2-mile fun run follows Beach Road along one of the favorite practice courses of former president of DFS Saipan and avid runner, Thomas Picarro.

The proceeds were derived from the $5 entry fee that the racers paid for the run on Saturday, June 19, 2004.

Last year the proceeds were donated to Crime Stopers, while the year prior saw Karidat as the recipients of the contribution.
