Alleged 2nd stabbing of same victim lands man in jail
An 18-year-old man was arrested after allegedly stabbing another man Friday night—reportedly the second time that the suspect tried to kill the same victim.
Angel Chipwelong Ruben allegedly stabbed Mino Phillips, 28, at the abandoned housing unit #57, near the parking lot of the Boss Poker Arcade in Garapan.
Investigation showed that the police had received a call about a disturbance in the area. When they arrived at the scene, they found the victim with a laceration cut on his back. The victim pointed out Ruben to the police officers, accusing the suspect of having stabbed him.
Ruben, wearing a black shirt and short pants, was arrested and transported to the Division of Corrections where he was booked and detained.
The victim was brought to Commonwealth Health Center where he was treated and admitted for observation.
The victim told the police that this was the second time that he has been stabbed in the same area, by the same suspect. According to the investigation, Ruben admitted to both incidents.
The suspect is now in jail and bail has been set at $25,000. (Cassie Dlg Fejeran)
