A year of culinary delights

Explore Crowne Plaza Resort Saipan’s food and beverage offerings and discover a dining experience that both pleases and nourishes not just the palate, but also the mind and soul.

Each dining outlet has its own signature and special touches, beginning with The Terrace, the resort’s main dining facility, which features a daily culinary spread of classic dishes and signature favorites. Foodies get to enjoy their meals amidst the relaxing backdrop of the Saipan lagoon’s turquoise waters.

Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, The Terrace features theme nights that have become a crowd favorite with its own loyal following.

Dine on Italian favorites during “Italia Mia”—the lunch and dinner offerings on Mondays and Tuesdays.

The Smoked Meats Feast Night is a gustatory delight that the resort proudly hosts every Wednesday and Thursday.

“The standout is the meat, which is slowly smoked in the resort by chef Zenn Tomokane and his team. It’s unique and has become so popular,” said Darlington.

Japanese comfort food takes centerstage at lunch and dinner every Friday and Saturday during “Plaza Izakaya” while The Terrace’s Sunday Brunch has become a part of every local family’s Sunday gathering.

The Terrace has private rooms that can host intimate gatherings and can seat 191 guests indoors and 60 outdoors.

An added perk for diners at The Terrace is the “Resort Pass” which includes lunch/brunch and pool access, Monday-Saturday that’s $50 adults $20 kids, and Sunday with their Special Sunday Brunch for $75 adults, $25 kids—a great price for those seeking to dine and enjoy some quality time with the kids.

At the Mari Bar, guests can relax in its casual ambiance while enjoying signature cocktails and drinks from the bar’s extensive selection of international and domestic wines.

This popular hangout enjoyed by locals and visitors alike has a relaxed bohemian vibe and is an ideal place to catch one of Saipan’s romantic sunsets.

“Mari Bar Golden Hour has really taken off, as have some of the menu items like the smoked pulled pork nachos and the Crowne Burger. The live music Thursday-Saturday is a hit,” said Darlington.

In one corner of the resort’s tropical-inspired lobby is the Market Place, where workspaces are available for those catching up with the office or just meeting colleagues.

Aside from its freshly brewed coffee creations and light bites and drinks, the Market Place is home to the gelato, Italy’s soft ice cream, which is now a Saipan favorite. A recent addition to foodie favorites is the newly launched themed cupcakes, which are enjoying brisk sales.

A “must-do” for visitors is the Ataari Dinner Show, which highlights the songs and dances of the Pacific and Micronesian regions. Dine on a buffet of international and local favorites at what is dubbed as “Saipan’s best cultural performance.”

Local foodies of all ages, on the other hand, have their erstwhile go-to dining haunt, which is Mai Teppanyaki. Its team of chefs received training from the top teppan chefs of ANA InterContinental Manza Beach Resort in Okinawa.

Since its recent reopening, patrons have come back with gusto to Mai Teppanyaki for a taste of the freshly prepared selection of meats, seafood, and vegetables prepared tableside by the restaurant’s teppan chefs.

Darlington is proud of the resort’s culinary team whose ingenuity, skills, and talent have contributed to the success of Crowne Plaza Resort Saipan’s fresh and vibrant food and beverage offerings.

To remain on top of its game, Crowne Plaza invests in constantly training its culinary team, composed of a mix of local and international culinary talents who come from different regions of the globe.

“They work with our culinary team at Crowne Plaza Resort Guam and our IHG Team to share ideas and to keep things fresh and interesting. We want to provide an environment where the team can learn, share ideas, and showcase their skills. This is something we want to do more of to bring new flavors, styles of cooking and cuisines for all to enjoy,” said Darlington. “We’re always evolving in Food & Beverage with new ideas and promotions. We’re always keen to hear feedback from our guests and will keep the favorites and continue to introduce new favorites.”

Crowne Plaza Resort Saipan is equally popular when it comes to hosting big events, meetings, and celebrations. With its 515-square-meter space, the Hibiscus Ballroom can comfortably fit 500 guests.

More intimate events are hosted at the Azucena Room. which can accommodate 120 guests, while weddings and intimate fun events can be held at the resort’s 4,600-square-meter outdoor venue, which is also fully equipped and wired to host 400 guests.

What makes Crowne Plaza Resort Saipan stand out as an events place is its professional events team that guide and advise guests in making their gatherings the events they envision them to be.

“The Hibiscus Ballroom has always had a loyal following and we were very happy to welcome many long-standing events back to the resort. This year we also welcomed a lot of new business from local and abroad. This is an area of the business we want to continue to grow, especially in bringing new groups and events to Saipan,” said Darlington.

As part of its one-year anniversary, Crowne Plaza is offering a 25% discount at The Terrace buffet, Mari Bar, Market Place, and the Ataari Dinner Show from Nov. 24 to Dec. 10.
