‘All clear’ at FMS following bomb threat via note

The Department of Public Safety issued an “all clear” around 1pm today following a bomb threat earlier this morning at the Francisco M. Sablan Middle School.

DPS assistant chief of police and acting public information officer Simon T. Manacop told Saipan Tribune that the threat was made through a note which was left inside the school’s restroom. Given the case is still under investigation, Manacop said he is unable to share further information to the media as of yet.

When asked about the consequences of such a threat, he responded, “If caught, the perpetrators can be charged with ‘terroristic threatening’ and if convicted may be sentenced to a term not to exceed 10 years or a fine not to exceed $10,000, or both.”
