Another gas theft at Payless Truckload Store
Yet another disturbing gas theft was reported to the Department of Public Safety with Payless/Truckload Store in Chalan Kanoa this time falling victim to fuel fiends.
DPS confirmed that the incident involved the deliberate puncturing of a delivery van’s gas tank, resulting in a significant fuel leak.
According to DPS, the crime occurred on the evening of Aug. 19, 2024, but was only discovered after the vehicle was towed to a repair shop. Upon further inspection, it became clear that the gas tank had been intentionally damaged. The business’ surveillance footage from the store revealed that the culprits, who were seen carrying gas containers, loaded the stolen fuel into a white Nissan Frontier. A red Toyota Tacoma was also seen interacting with the occupants of the Frontier, suggesting possible coordination between the vehicles.
DPS has released a still image of the driver of the Nissan Frontier and is urging the public to come forward with any information that could help identify the suspects.
As for the other recent cases of gas thefts and the Sunday stabbing at the Flamingo Tavern in Garapan, police shared that there are no updates as of yet, but the cases remain under investigation.
DPS encourages those who know any information regarding any of these cases to contact the Criminal Investigation Bureau at (670) 664-9042, DPS headquarters at (670) 664-9001, or Crime Stoppers Hotline at (670) 234-7272 if they wish to remain anonymous.
