Blue Haus wins 2 in a row
Blue Haus notched two wins in a row in the continuation of the Ali’i Inc./Madflex Sports Summer Youth Basketball Tour 2024 Season 1 last Friday and Saturday at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.
They first took on Win Pacific Corp. and won by a close 55-51 final, while they enjoyed a 10-point, 53-43 win over JTM Corp. last Saturday.
In the game against Win Pacific, Blue Haus enjoyed a 12-9 lead at the end of the first quarter from buckets by the duo of Dane Tibayan and Onick Ragbonshe.
However, Win Pacific bounced back quickly in the second quarter as they got into the groove of their plays and forced turnovers which they converted into fast-break plays. By the end of the first half, the tides changed as Win Pacific boasted a 27-23 lead.
Ragbonshe and Tibayan then went on a tear in the second half that ultimately solidified a bigger lead for them, 47-39, at the end of the third quarter.
Win Pacific’s Webb Alano did all that he could with Matthew Peters to get back in the game, and the fourth quarter was a much closer matchup. In the end though, a crucial field goal followed by free throws by Tibayan sealed their win by just three points, 55-51.
Ragbonshe won the Player of the Game last Friday with his 23 points, 8 rebounds, 1 steal, 4 assists, and 2 blocks. Tibayan was right behind at 19 points.
Alano contributed 20 points to Win Pacific’s losing fight, while Peters put up 14, and Bernard Sabino scored 6.
Last Saturday, Blue Haus’ Ibrahim Ibrahola was awarded Player of the Game after he scored 8 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, had 4 steals, 3 assists, and 2 blocks.
In the other game last Friday, Hardt Eye Clinic won their third straight game, 59-55, over JTM Corp. The best player for that game was Hardt Eye’s Letrell Pelisamen with 8 points, 13 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 assists, and 9 blocks.
In the other game last Saturday, Hardt Eye Clinic won their fourth win in as many games, 61-54, over Win Pacific Corp. Lucas Esdrelong of Hardt Eye won Player of the Game with 7 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 assists, and 2 blocks.
Hardt Eye leads the standings with their four wins; Blue Haus is at 3-1; Win Pacific has an even 2-2 record; and J.T.M. Corp. have yet to win with four losses.
