Bolis R Us II moves to Garapan
Bolis R Us II is taking its talents to northern Beach Road or to Garapan to be more precise, just beside TSL Plaza.
Owner Tracy Pangelinan said the traditional Chamorro snack bar always had its sights to opening a branch in central Saipan.
“Our plan from the beginning was to open a branch in Garapan. We were unable to find the right location. Our previous location was only able to accommodate up to six persons. Our new location with seating can occupy up to 27.”
Like its previous iterations in Oleai, the bigger and better Bolis R Us II in Garapan offers a variety of local food like their signature empanadas as well as American and Filipino dishes and sweets.
“Our all-time favorite bestsellers are our empanadas. We will be announcing the comeback of our ‘Sushi Express in the Village’ soon,” she said.
To mark the opening of the Garapan site, Pangelinan said they will be having a promotion where their daily lunch can be had for only $5 for one viand choice, $6 for two choices, and $9 for three choices—all inclusive of two scoops of rice, finadeni, and koko.
Pangelinan said in a way the move to Garapan is a vote of confidence in the CNMI economy, as she is optimistic that sales will increase with the islands completely saying goodbye to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Not to say the economy will not change. We must stay in the positive mindset and say our economy will get better. With COVID lifted we can project more tourist coming in to boost our economy.”
She is also happy to provide jobs especially at a time when other businesses have reduced their hours to stay in business.
“We did not have a problem looking for new staff. On our first job opening announcement I had about 70 applicants. Most of the applicants that applied were looking for a second job.”
As the offspring of Terry’s Snack Bar, Bolis R Us II continues the long tradition of delicious local comfort food.
“I encourage my local customers to come taste our comfort food. You won’t regret it. We’ve been around for so many years. This lets us know that we’re doing a great job. My mom’s Terry’s Snack Bar is still located at the same place in Chalan Kanoa across from William S. Reyes Elementary School.”
Pangelinan also announced that Terry’ n Bolis in Kagman has closed after her niece, Loli Pangelinan, moved to Texas and opened Bolis Grub there.
“So, basically anywhere you go you can enjoy our delicious food on Saipan and the U.S. mainland,” she said.
Bolis R Us II is open Monday-Saturday from 6:30am to 2pm. For more information, call (670) 284-7170 and (670) 284-6474. They can also be reached on Facebook.
