Bootcamp registration deadlines extended
Guam Community College Continuing Education and Workforce Development has extended registration to those interested in either the Truck Driving V Bootcamp or the Medical Home Health Aide (Caregiver) V Bootcamp to Friday, Nov. 24, 2023. Both bootcamps are free to those who meet the requirements.
Requirements:
Able to work in the United States
18+ years old
High school graduate or equivalent
Meet health clearance
B Class License (for truck driving bootcamp only)
Unemployed or underemployed
Completers of the Caregiver bootcamp will earn a certificate of completion/credentials in Medical Home Health Aide OSHA 10 (Healthcare), Heartsaver/First Aid/CPR, Work Ethic, and WorkKeys NCRC. This bootcamp also serves as a pathway to GCC’s Allied Health Programs. They have the option to continue their educational journey by pursuing programs such as an Associate of Science in Medical Assisting, an Associate of Science in Practical Nursing, certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant, or obtaining certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). All these programs are available at GCC allowing for a smooth transition. Caregivers offer essential assistance to individuals who are ailing or elderly. Graduates of the bootcamp program will possess the skills to deliver care in various settings, including private homes, clinics, and hospitals.
Truck Driving completers will earn a certificate of completion and receive nationally recognized certifications in OSHA 10, Work Ethic, and WorkKeys. Participants will learn everything they need to earn their certificate and pass their Department of Revenue and Taxation Division of Motor Vehicles Class C License test. Commercial truck drivers are in high demand on Guam and across the nation. The GCC Truck Driving Boot Camp V gives successful completers the training and knowledge needed to enter this in-demand, high-paying industry.
