CNMI Democrats announce re-election bids of Democratic incumbents
Three incumbent Democratic Party lawmakers in the CNMI House of Representatives will be running for re-election this November.
The Democratic Party of the Northern Mariana Islands announced yesterday that Rep. Denita Kaipat Yangetmai of Precinct 3, Rep. Vicente Castro Camacho of Precinct 3, and Rep. Diego Vincent Fejeran Camacho of Precinct 1 will be seeking reelection in November so that they might continue serving the people of their respective precincts in the CNMI House of Representatives.
Rep. Edwin K. Propst of Precinct 1 already announced on Feb. 6, 2024, that he intends to run for U.S. delegate under the party’s banner and will campaign for the people’s vote of confidence in his bid to succeed Delegate Gregorio Kilili C. Sablan, who is retiring after eight terms in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Sen. Edith Deleon Guerrero, who ran as a Democrat and made history as the first woman to serve as Senate president, let party chair Jonathan Cabrera know that she will be leaving the party after her current term ends. “She has served the people of the third senatorial district with distinction,” said Cabrera, “and we will always be grateful for her service and commitment to the people of the CNMI.”
