CNMI OSHA to host training on preventing construction-related fatalities

In an effort to enhance workplace safety and reduce the risk of fatalities in the construction industry, CNMI Occupational Safety and Health Administration will be hosting a training workshop focusing on the OSHA “Fatal Four.”

The OSHA “Fatal Four”—falls, electrocutions, struck-by incidents, and caught-in or between hazards—are responsible for the majority of construction-related fatalities. This two-day training workshop will delve deep into these critical areas, providing participants with essential insights, strategies, and best practices for mitigating risks and ensuring a safer work environment.

The training will take place on May 20 and 21, 2024 at the American Memorial Park Visitors Center. Each day will have two sessions, with the first one taking place from 8am to 12pm and the second session occurring from 12:30pm to 4:30pm.

Led by expert trainers well-versed in OSHA regulations and industry standards, this workshop will feature interactive sessions, case studies, and practical exercises tailored to the unique challenges of the construction sector. Participants will learn how to identify potential hazards, implement effective safety measures, and promote a culture of vigilance and accountability on construction sites.

This training is ideal for construction workers, supervisors, safety officers, project managers, and anyone involved in the construction industry. By equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to address the Fatal Four hazards, the training aims to significantly reduce the incidence of workplace accidents and fatalities.
