Christmas in the Marianas set to return on Sat., Dec. 9

The premier holiday celebration of the Marianas, Christmas in the Marianas, returns with all its holiday cheer tomorrow, Dec. 9, at T Galleria in Garapan, Saipan.

This Saturday’s entertainment lineup will feature another night of Christmas caroling by local schoolchildren and is organized by the Marianas Visitors Authority in collaboration with PDM Promoters, Team PDI, and DFS Saipan.

Following The Marianas Experience—a free, interactive indigenous cultural exhibition—from 3pm to 5:30pm, local middle schools will take the stage.

Carolers this Saturday will include Tanapag Middle School (5:30pm), Agape Christian School (5:45pm), Admiral Herbert Hopwood Middle School (6pm), Dandan Middle School (6:15pm), Northern Marianas International School (6:30pm), Saipan Community School (6:45pm), and Francisco M. Sablan Middle School (7pm). The Marianas Experience will resume until closing at 9pm .

“Wow, talk about being excited for Christmas. The energy of students last Saturday was through the roof at T Galleria, and we look forward to more of the same this week,” said MVA managing director Christopher A. Concepcion. “We invite everyone to come down and get into the spirit of the holidays at Christmas in the Marianas.”

Food and drinks will be on sale at the event. A display of Christmas trees featuring natural and recycled decorations made by schoolchildren is staged in front of DFS main entrance.

Christmas in the Marianas will also be held on Dec. 16 and 30, 2023.

Participating schools are William S. Reyes Elementary School, Hopwood Middle School, Grace Christian Academy, Golden Harvest International School, Chacha Ocean View Middle School, Green Meadow School, Tanapag Middle School, Saipan International School, Garapan Elementary School, Dandan Middle School, Northern Marianas International School, Agape Christian School, San Vicente Elementary School, Kagman Elementary School, Brilliant Star School, Mount Carmel School, Oleai Elementary School, Francisco M. Sablan Middle School, Saipan Southern High School, Marianas High School, Saipan Community School, and Koblerville Elementary School.

Christmas tree contest prizes will be awarded on Dec. 16, 2023. Caroling & Skit contest will be awarded on Dec. 30, 2023.
