Citadel announces leadership changes

Citadel Pacific Ltd., the parent company of IT&E, announced yesterday a strategic realignment aimed at further strengthening its commitment to leading innovation and excellence.

Effective January 2024, IT&E chief executive officer Jim Oehlerking will transition to a key role as chief technology officer of Citadel Data Centers, the newest addition to the Citadel portfolio of companies.

Citadel Data Centers will strategically deliver reliable and secure data storage and bring computing power closer to the user. The latest Tier 3 platform designs offer low-latency, secure, and seamless connections across our carrier and Cloud neutral, energy-efficient facilities, bridging gaps across Asia Pacific’s fastest-growing emerging markets.

Since 2015, Oehlerking has been an integral part of IT&E’s success, serving as CEO. Under his leadership IT&E has continued to expand and upgrade its cellular, internet, and Enterprise/IT service offerings across Guam and the CNMI, with a planned 2024 Q1 launch of high speed 5G.

In his new role as the CTO of Citadel Data Centers, Oehlerking will bring a wealth of experience and expertise to oversee and drive the evolution and development of our best-in-class data centers.

Also, effective January 2024, David Gibson will assume the role as IT&E CEO. Gibson will assure our presence and further our commitment to our communities, customers, and partners in Guam and the CNMI.

Gibson has over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry as a seasoned leader and strategist. He comes to IT&E from Commnet Broadband, where he served as chief revenue officer. His previous roles include president of Locke Hill Advisors, senior vice president, Carrier & Wholesale Sales of First Light Fiber; and vice president, Business Development of BayRing Communications, and more. His community involvement includes school board chairperson for the Barrington, New Hampshire School District. Gibson holds a BS from the University of New Hampshire.

“As we continue on this exciting journey, our commitment to our valued customers and the communities we serve remains unwavering. Under Jim and David’s guidance, we pledge to continue delivering cutting-edge telecommunications solutions while fostering community engagement initiatives. We are confident that this leadership change will not only enhance our company’s standing in the industry but also strengthen our bonds with the people and places we proudly connect,” said Jim Beighley, CPL Pacific CEO and head of Strategy and Mergers and Acquisitions.
