Cruz cruises to Round 8 win
Aric Cruz finished the season with a bang after topping anew the Intermediate Class of Round 8 of the 2024 “MOTO IV” Points Race Series last Sunday at the Cowtown Race Park.
The 17-year-old recent intern at Herman’s Modern Bakery won both heats for a perfect 50 points. Vicente Palacios wound up second with 44 points, while Ethan Yumul was third with 40 points.
“The track was a fun dry and tacky course. To me it was about having fun but after I crashed in the first heat going to the third lap, I decided to race like I had nothing to lose. I would like to give all the thanks to the Lord up above for giving me the courage to not give up and I would like to dedicate this win to my parents for always standing by my side in all of the hardest times,” said Cruz after his Round 8 victory aboard his trusty 2024 Yamaha Yz250f.
He also extended his thanks to Rep. Ralph Yumul (Ind-Saipan) for the tents, “as it was a crazy hot day” and Guy Pudney of MARPAC “for the refreshments to keep us hydrated.”
Other sponsors Cruz sent his gratitude to include Inas Kitchen, YCO Hardware, 670 Rocksteady Shop, TurnKey Solutions, DC Pro Rentals, and the Ericco Racing Team.
Results of the other classes will be published in the next issues of Saipan Tribune.
