DOL, WIA, NMTECH launch construction pre-apprenticeship program
The CNMI Department of Labor and the CNMI Workforce Investment Agency, in partnership with the Northern Marianas Technical Institute, will be launching a construction pre-apprenticeship program next week in an effort to boost the construction industry in the CNMI.
The program, which is made possible through a $10.6-million award from the U.S Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration, will provide participants with construction industry recognized certifications, stipends, and ultimately a pathway to an official industry apprenticeship.
Classes are set to begin next Tuesday, Jan. 16, so all interested participants are encouraged to register as soon as possible. Registration has been extended to Jan. 16.
For more information on how to register for the program, visit the CNMI DOL’s Facebook page.
Although open to the public, applicants are still subject to eligibility requirements.
DOL and WIA have also partnered with Island Training Solutions to launch a pre-apprenticeship program in the hospitality industry.
Classes for this program will begin on Feb. 6, so interested participants are encouraged to register as soon as possible.
