Democratic Party thanks supporters following elections
The Democratic Party of the Northern Mariana Islands extended its thanks to the CNMI community for practicing their right to vote and thanked all those who supported the IND-DEM coalition.
Yesterday, in a press release from the local Democratic Party, they expressed their gratitude to those who came out to vote and to those who supported the IND-DEMS coalition.
“The Democratic Party of the Northern Mariana Islands would like to thank the community of registered votes for making their voices heard in the recent elections. We thank the voters for re-electing a few of. our incumbents while believing in the IND-DEM coalition that is working for our people and our future every day,” said the press release.
Party vice chair Luella Marciano thanked Gov. Arnold I. Palacios, Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang, Delegate Gregorio Kilili C. Sablan (D-Saipan), and others who made election day a success and showed their support.
“We extend our regards to Gov. Arnold I. Palacios, Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang for their support of our candidates and the IND-DEM coalition on the hill. To our honorable delegate Congressman Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan for his unmatched legacy and invaluable support. To Sen. Celina Babauta for her guidance, and continued fight for our people. To the staff, and commissioners of the Commonwealth Election Office, election volunteers, poll workers, our amazing poll workers, and everyone who made the elections a reality on Saipan, Tinian, Rota, and the Northern Islands, we thank you,” she said.
Party treasurer Shawna Indalecio thanked all the party candidates for the opportunity to support them this election season.
“To our incumbents Reps. Ed Propst, Manny Castro, Diego Vincent Camacho, Vicente Camacho, and Denita Yangetmai—you are forever the “Fantastic Five.” Thank you for allowing us to do better, and work harder for you. It was an historic year with so much to be thankful for, and we thank you for the opportunity to do what we can to support you. Stay hydrated and motivated for the future. Biba Democrats, Biba IND-DEM coalition, and Biba Marianas!” she said.
Secretary Nasima Uddin thanked all those behind the scenes of the Democratic Party who ensured a smooth campaign season.
“To the DNC for their support, and everyone in our party working behind the scenes. A lot of magic was happening with our legal advisors, fundraising/logistical/operational teams and the miscellaneous legwork. I would like to acknowledge and thank Michael White, Stephen Woodruff, James Cabrera, Peter Muna, John Tomei, Tina Sablan, Leila Staffler, the IND-DEM coalitions, and our members and supporters on Tinian & Rota—we thank you,” said Uddin.
Finally, party executive director Nola Hix congratulated all the candidates who ran a great campaign and thanks them for their courage.
“Congratulations to all the candidates who ran a great campaign and to our next delegate Kimberlyn King-Hinds. We would like to thank all of the candidates, for their courage to run for office. Win or lose, it is their willingness to step up to the plate that is admired by all who believe in them, and all who believe in a better future for our beloved Marianas. I would also like to personally thank our party of awesome members on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota, former governor Dr. Carlos Camacho, his wife Winnie, and our supporters for their determination, and positive energy. This election was one for the books—locally and nationally we were running a marathon, and we had so much fun. So much to look forward to and we’ll see you all again soon,” she said.
