Gecko 5K Fun Run tomorrow

In celebration of Saipan International School’s 30th anniversary, the public is invited to run in the Gecko 5K Fun Run that coincides with the third meet of the NMA/ PSS Cross Country series this Saturday morning at Banzai Cliff.

Start time is at 6:55am for the community fun run.

Participation medals will be presented to the first 500 finishers and podium finishers will also get medals.

Dr. Ron Snyder, SIS headmaster said of the event, “It should be a lot of fun. It starts and finishes at Banzai cliff and it’s a very pretty, gorgeous course. And a great way to spend an early Saturday morning.”

At the same time, elementary school cross country division teams will start their course at 6:30am, while middle school starts at 6:40am, and 6:55am for high school.

Middle school will run two laps. The course is on the grass and will be marked off by posts and tape. Runners who run on the road instead of the grass on the path to the Last Command Post will be disqualified.
