Gene’s Barber & Beauty Shop opens second location in Dandan

Gene’s Barber & Beauty Shop has opened a second location in Dandan to serve its loyal customers in the southern and eastern end of Saipan.

“The idea to open a second branch in Dandan is to have a personal care service that is community based. Besides that, we’ve had some clamor from our esteemed clients to open a new location closer to the south and east of the island,” said owner Boy Ching.

Like its cornerstone location along Middle Road across the Mobil Oil gas station in Garapan, Gene’s Barber & Beauty Shop in Dandan also offers haircut, shave, hair coloring, scalp treatment, and hair styling.

“There are two barbers—Johnny Labasan and Levi Amis. As of now the salon has only one all-around beautician/hairstylist, Elle Perez, and because of this salon service is by appointment only. But by next month, Elle will be stationed permanently in Dandan, as former all-around beautician Shine Robin will be back in Garapan,” he said, adding that he might add an additional all-around beautician in the future depending on demand.

Since opening earlier this month, Gene’s Barber & Beauty Shop in Dandan has been quite busy especially every Monday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Located at the Chong’s International Corp. Bldg. Unit 104 along Dandan Road, Gene’s Barber & Beauty Shop in Dandan is open from Monday to Sunday, 10am-6pm. For more information or to make an appointment, call (670) 235-6300

Gene’s Barber Shop is the pioneer barbershop on Saipan having been established in the 1980s. It’s named after the original owner, Generoso, who passed away in the early 2010s. Ching bought the business from his widow.
