HS girls All-Star v-ball game this Friday
The Northern Marianas Volleyball Association and school team coaches have organized a girls volleyball All-Star Game for Friday, 6pm at the Agape Gymnasium.
NMIVA board member Shawn Davis said in an email that the chosen players from each high school varsity team of the PSS Girls High School Volleyball 2022-2023 season will showcase their skills in a 3-out-of-5 set match.
The program’s purpose is to highlight the skills that exist on each team beyond the first and second place teams at the end of the HS girls volleyball season. The selected players have trained with a cast of coaches for a period of five training sessions totaling 16 hours. The practices have given the players an opportunity to pursue their potential and reach a higher level of competition.
The following players below from each school will represent two All-Star teams in their game.
Saipan International School’s representatives are Kaithlyn Chavez, Aubrey Castro, Hoo Wang, and Euky Claveria as their libero.
Saipan Southern High School’s representatives include Mai Peters, Casey Cruz, Yasmeen Younis, and Miley Salas as their libero.
Agape Christian School players are Elim Huang, Sunny Wang, Jessica Chen, Barbara Wang as the setter, and Lucy Hong as the libero.
Grace Christian Academy players are Azzy Fatialofa, Bea Fabre, Alyssa Omampo, setter Eunice Pagaduan, and libero Matty Angeles.
Mount Carmel School includes Mia Abuan, Jieun Kwon, Maili Peter, and setter Chelsy Reyes.
Marianas High School players are Rizza Relucio, Julie Capayas, Tamia Kileleman-Hix, and Elaina Manglona.

And for Rota’s Dr. Rita H. Inos High School, the players are Brynn Atalig, Kaypeonie Mendiola, and Dencia Lizama.
Davis said, “As the girl’s high school season came to an end we again wanted to recognize the exceptional athletes from both public and private schools as was done last year with the high school boys. These student athletes are full of talent, sportsmanship, and make an impact as leaders to their peers. To do this NMVA and team coaches worked together to have an All-Star game in the month of November, with participation from each team to give the players an opportunity to be recognized for their outstanding efforts.”
She added, “As we support these students in their demonstration of athleticism we would like to thank Marianas High School and Agape Christian School for working with us in providing an avenue to train. We would also like to acknowledge the coaches, referees and technical officials who have given their time to support the implementation of the All-Star program.”

Grace Christian Academy’s Azzy Fatialofa, left, and Marianas High School’s Tamia Kileleman-Hix are one of the few chosen to participate in the HS girls All-Star volleyball game this Friday, 6pm, at the Agape Gymnasium.
