Island Skin Solutions brings expert skincare to Marianas

From facials to hair loss treatments, and from Botox to tattoo removals, residents looking for a local go-to for quality skincare services and products need only to visit the village of Puerto Rico to find their fix.

Located in the Marina Heights 2 building, Island Skin Solutions & Wellness Clinic is the islands’ premier medical skincare and wellness clinic, offering a wide range of treatments, including facials, microneedling, laser hair and tattoo removal, botox and filler injections, and more.

The clinic first opened its doors in 2021, when owner and nurse practitioner Shawna Brennfleck decided to continue the dermatology work started by Laura Maroney, a former dermatology nurse practitioner at Medical Associates of the Pacific.

“When Laura worked with us in family practice, I was able to shadow her for dermatology as well as for aesthetic treatments. And the first time that I did it on my own, I just loved it. I love the way that you can transform someone’s skin and the way that they look, and the best part about that is the confidence that it gives them,” said Brennfleck.

Brennfleck, who holds certifications in Botox and dermal fillers and has had training in hair loss treatments, conducts the clinic’s medical treatments which includes injections, skin biopsies, and cyst removals. Meanwhile, Cherie Moses, a former Rota resident and a medical aesthetician with over 15 years of experience, specializes in the clinic’s aesthetic treatments, which includes microneedling, lasers, hydrafacials and chemical peels.

Also available at the clinic are medical-grade skincare products from quality brands such as MDPen, SkinBetter, and The Perfect Derma.
