Jang jamming in February tilt

Eunae Jang was victorious in the February tournament of the CNMI Women’s Golf Association last March 9 at the LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort east course.

The 42-year-old golfer shot a net score 74 to humble a seven-women field for the monthly tiara.

Jang shot a 47 in the front nine and a 46 in the back nine for a gross score of 93, which minus her 19-handicap, gave her the lowest score of the one-day competition.

Coming in second for the February tourney was Son Hyun with a post-handicap total of 75 following a gross of 85 (42-43). Completing the Top 3 was Kim See Hee with her 77 net score built around a gross of 85 (38-47) and handicap of 8.

Jang said she absolutely had a blast playing in the last tourney as the conditions were pretty much perfect for a relaxing round of golf.

“The wind and sunlight were so nice that day. The green was so fast in the first half of the east coast that it was hard for me to adjust. All the CWGA members played very well, and it was a happy day to play with them,” said the staff of New MJ Corp.

She then dedicated her win to her ever-supportive family and fellow members of CWGA.

“I want to share this win with all the members of CWGA and my loving family.”

Coming in fourth to seventh, with their net scores in parenthesis, were Yuko Togawa (79), Janet Torres (83), Lorraine Babauta (84), and Lydia Tan (84).

The club continues to look for new members as the new season continues. For those interested in becoming a member of CWGA or for more information, contact CWGA president Yuko Togawa at (670) 287-9856, vice president Lorraine Babauta at (670) 287-0621, or treasurer Lou Kim at (670) 783-7317.
