Join DFW for the annual Christmas Bird Count on Dec. 20
The Christmas Bird Count is a long-standing program of the National Audubon Society, with over 100 years of community science involvement. It’s an early-winter bird census where thousands of volunteers across the U.S., Canada, and beyond help count birds in a 24-hour period on one specific day.
We are looking for volunteers to help with this important event, and we’d love to have you join us! This event is free and open to the public, and people of all ages and skill levels are welcome to participate.
Meet-up times and locations:
Saipan: 6am at American Memorial Park
Rota: 6am at Round House Pavilion, Songsong
Tinian: 6am at Fiesta Grounds
Teams will head out to cover each island, finding and recording as many birds and bird species as possible. Don’t forget to bring binoculars (if you have them), water, and dress for being outdoors.
