Just4Fun light up Pare Pack, 10-5

Just4Fun lit up Pare Pack, 10-5, on the opening day of the 2024 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association Men’s Slow Pitch Open League last Sunday at the Dandan Softball Field.

Just4Fun pitcher Ze Lifoifoi didn’t allow any runs for Pare Pack to cross the plate as he shut down their offense in the first couple of innings. Meanwhile, Just4Fun’s offense lit up Pare Pack pitcher A.J. Lizama with a run in the first from Keith Kintol, and two runs in the third from a two-run homer by Tony Salas, for a 3-0 game.

Then, Pare Pack found their swing as they scored one in the third and two in the fourth from a homer by Hank Lizama Jr. and Se Lizama to get within one, 3-4, after a run by Lifoifoi.

Just4Fun added three more runs in the fifth to hold a 7-3 lead. At Pare Pack’s turn in the box, they were retired in order as Lifoifoi struck out two of three batters.

From there, the homers didn’t stop raining for Just4Fun as Lifoifoi hit a two-run home run to extend their lead, 9-3. Kintol then hit another solo shot in the last inning for a 10-3 game.

Pare Pack had a burst of a rally in them in the sixth inning, but it was quickly dashed. They did manage to score two more runs by Verlance Secharmidal and Lizama to get within half, 5-10. However, Lifoifoi went on to shut off Pare Pack’s offense in the last inning and wrapped up their first game of the season with a win for a 1-0 record.

In other results, Brotherhood beat Bat That Ass Up, 11-4; Blue Jays took down Saipal, 21-13; Red Torch extinguished Team Luchan, 20-3; Homies silenced The Kliq, 18-0; Taotao Mona scared off AB Team, 10-3; Team Yayaya defeated We Balls, 12-2; and Team Wazzup slipped past defending champions Aimeliik Bat Boys, 13-12.

Catch the action at the Dandan Softball Field every Sunday from 9am to 4pm. The regular season games will run until November, with playoffs to be determined after.
