Latte FC, Kanoa FC start Dove league strong

Latte Football Club and Kanoa Football Club started the 2024 Fall Dove Women’s League A Division strong at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville last Sunday.

Latte FC put their best foot forward and won over MP United FC Blue, 3-1.

Khristelle Itaas was the difference-maker in the game as she continued to bring her leadership and spunk on the pitch. Although MP United Blue broke the ice first in the eighth minute, Latte tied it up, 1-1, in the 17th from a goal by Itaas.

The match dragged on without a peep from both sides until Maria Fathangin put Latte up, 2-1 in the 40th minute. Then, Itaas broke the ceiling as she scored the third goal 10 minutes later for a 3-1 game.

MP United Blue failed to retaliate and handed Latte the win.

In the first game of the season, Kanoa FC made light work of Paire FC, 8-0.

Kanoa’s Andrei Kaithlyn Chavez, Aubrey White, and Ye Lynn Ha were a trio to be reckoned with on the pitch as they led the onslaught against Paire.

At the starting whistle, Kanoa already had a 1-0 advantage as Ayessa Tereyama found an opening in the first minute. Silence reigned after that, but Audrey Castro nipped the net for a 2-0 Kanoa lead.

Then, White, Chavez, and Ha went to work as they scored two goals each throughout the second half without a reply from Paire. In the end, eight goals whizzed past Paire’s keeper and conceded, 0-8.

In the other A Division game that day, Shirley’s FC and MP United FC ended in a scoreless draw, 0-0.

Results of the B Division were: Kanoa FC beat Shirley’s FC 2, 3-0; Shirley’s FC 1 pounced on Latte FC, 8-0; Paire FC slipped past Matansa FC, 2-1; and MP United FC Pink beat Matansa FC 2, 3-0.

In the DWL Masters Division, Kanoa FC and Shirley’s FC were at a 0-0 stalemate, and Paire FC outscored Latte FC, 2-0.

Games are played every Sunday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.
