MCS wins 2 in a row in girls MS v-ball

Mount Carmel School Lady Knights are off to a hot start as they have won two in a row in the NMIVA-PSS Interscholastic Girls Middle School Volleyball League 2024-2025.

In their most recent conquest last Thursday, they vanquished defending champions Grace Christian Academy Lady Eagles in two swift sets at the Marianas High School Gymnasium.

The Lady Knights’ rotation of Mia Guerrero, Miana Dela Cruz, Adelle Kautz, Caydince Masga, O-ren Sasamoto, Neia Tagabuel, Paige Muna, Aliyani Basa, Eunyu Zoey Kwak, Sofia Dimafelix, Trisha Abuan, and Heaven Deleon Guerrero worked, pulsed, and moved as one as they took the first set, 21-16.

GCA’s roster of Anne Arriola, Charlotte Figueroa, Hanbyul Jang, Mikheala Kim, Sarang Lee, Breanna Lopez, Celine Mondido, Adele Raho, Stacey Ramos, Ameree San Nicolas, Chloe Shin, and Keala Takeda tried to keep pace with the Lady Knights, but was overpowered by their well-placed returns and less errors in their gameplay.

Lopez, GCA’s captain, attempted to carry her team on her back as she dove, jumped, spiked, and served her way to landing points for her team, but her team’s chemistry was not there yet—even in the second set.

Despite keeping pace with the Lady Knights at the beginning of the second set though, 1-1, 5-5, 6-6, MCS pulled away with the help of their team moving as one unit, and clinched the second set, 21-9.

Last Tuesday, in the opening day of games, MCS won their first game of the season after they beat Chacha Ocean View Middle School, 21-18, 21-13.

In other results last Tuesday, Dandan Middle School Tottots soared high against Saipan International School Lady Geckos, 21-4, 21-18; Francisco M. Sablan Middle School II beat SIS II in three tough sets, 21-17, 16-21, 15-12; and Tanapag Middle School Tatagas made light work of MCS II, 21-7, 21-6.

Games are played every Tuesday and Thursday, with the championship series set for Jan. 16-18, 2025.
