Man Amigos thrashes Tuturamz, 19-5
Man Amigos killed it against Tuturamz to win, 19-5, in the 2024 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association men’s division last Sunday at the Dandan Softball Field.
It was a run-mercy ruled game that ended in the fifth inning because Tuturamz couldn’t get anything on the board after the third inning.
Man Amigos drew first blood by scoring in the first inning, with the game quickly evened up in the second from a two-RBI homer by Hank Reyes.

Man Amigos’ Joey Dela Cruz hit a grand slam and another three-run homer in the same inning of their game against Tuturamz in the 2024 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association men’s division last Sunday at the Dandan Softball Field.

The third inning was a fruitful one for Man Amigos after coming out scoreless in the second. They scored 14 runs with a couple of homers from cleanup hitter Joey Dela Cruz. The top three in the lineup did their jobs by getting on base, and Dela Cruz finished it off with a grand slam in his first at-bat that inning, and in the next round up the lineup, hit a 3-run home run.
Tuturamz came up with a measly three runs in the third from homers by Eric Cabrera and Jack Cepeda, but they could not come back from the big gap that Man Amigos had built.
Pete Sablan added two more homers for Man Amigos, with Dela Cruz scoring the last run in the last inning.
Asahi 16, Wazzup 2
Asahi won another shortened game as they silenced Wazzup, 16-2.
Asahi’s John Taitano started off their offense with a three-run jack in the first. Wazzup tied it in the second and took the lead in the third as Asahi was shut down in order by their pitcher.
However, Asahi woke up from their drunken stupor and scored eight runs to overtake the lead by nine runs, 11-2.
Wazzup went scoreless in the fourth and fifth and Asahi took it all the way home with a final blow of five more runs in the last inning.
Sufa 16, Team Redmen 3
Sufa didn’t give a chance to the Redmen as they won in another shortened game, 16-3.
The only runs for the Redmen came in the third inning by way of Jason Reyes, Rick Bauer, and Tom Pangelinan, while Sufa were on a run-scoring frenzy throughout the game.
Audie Maratita hit a 3-run homer in the second and at the end of the inning, led 8-0. He hit another homer in the last inning after seven more runs came in the third and fourth, and the Redmen conceded when their offense remained lifeless.
Hagu La’mun 20, Saipal 10
Hagu La’mun doubled Saipal’s score, 20-10, in a run-hungry game.
Hagu La’mun had the upper hand majority of the time, but Saipal put up a good fight until the end. It was a scrappy game with no home runs, both teams relying on base hits and defensive mistakes, but Hagu La’mun just had momentum on their side as they made contact more often than Saipal.
By the fourth inning, Hagu La’mun had a 14-8 lead, which only grew wider as Saipal went scoreless in the fifth. Hagu La’mun went on to add four more runs while Saipal could only score two.
Peliliu 9, Tokahao 6
This game could’ve gone both ways, but Peliliu came out on top to win, 9-6 against Tokahao.
Tokahao had a 2-1 lead in the third inning, but couldn’t hold on as Peliliu added two on the board to switch the momentum. Pelilu went on to add three more runs from Cartfield Sablan’s 3-run homer in the fifth, while Tokahao scored two in the sixth for a 6-4 game.
Peliliu added three more in the sixth and Tokahao failed to make a comeback in their last at-bat as they scored just two more runs.
