NMC campuses closed today, Oct. 10
Northern Marianas College advised its students and employees yesterday that its campuses on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota will be closed today, Oct. 10, due to the anticipated threat of Tropical Storm Bolaven, which is projected to become a typhoon today.
This comes soon after Gov. Arnold I. Palacios declared Typhoon Condition II for the islands of Saipan and Tinian, and maintained Typhoon Condition III for the island of Rota as of 2pm yesterday, Oct. 9, 2023. Palacios issued the declaration in consultation with the CNMI Homeland Security and Emergency Management and the National Weather Service’s Weather Forecast Office.
NMC said in its news release yesterday that updates regarding the reopening of all campuses will be promptly announced.
“The college will continue to monitor the weather through emergency management agencies. Please continue to take precautionary measures as heavy winds, rain, and flooding are imminent. Further updates will be provided when available,” it added.
NMC said that updates regarding class schedules and other announcements will be made through student and employee email (@marianas.edu) and the following platforms:
