No. 7 Full-time return of interscholastic sports
The school year 2022-2023 and the ongoing 2023-2024 season saw the first full time return of interscholastic sports.
Interscholastic sports that made their uninterrupted comebacks include the whole lot—volleyball, basketball, badminton, cross country, soccer, va’a, athletics—and also welcomed a new edition—softball.
Many of the titles were won by defending champs, but it also saw unexpected upsets.
The legacy of the Grace Christian Academy Lady Eagles is going strong as they won their unprecedented seventh title in girls high school volleyball.
In high school girls basketball, MHS won its fourth title at the end of the 2022-2023 school year, but were upset by Saipan Southern High School in the ongoing 2023-2024 season.
Much of the credit of a smooth and ever-growing sports program goes to Public School System Athletic Program director Nick Gross, his staff, the volunteers, and the sports federations.
