PMCC members hold Beach Road cleanup drive
Members of the Pentecostal Missionary Church of Christ (4th Watch) held a cleanup drive last Sunday by picking up trash along Beach Road on Saipan.
The cleanup drive was spearheaded by PMCC pastors Marcos and Arbie De Vera, along with their children, to kick off the congregation’s Family Month initiative.
Members of the congregation cleaned up the section of Beach Road starting from the Quarter Master Road to the United Filipino Organization pavilion in Garapan.
Pastor Marcos De Vera said the cleanup drive has been part of the ministry’s tradition spanning over two decades since its inception on Saipan.
De Vera said the tradition symbolizes the congregation’s commitment to environmental stewardship and community service.
He said the members’ families gather yearly to give back to the community by participating in beach cleanups, adopting and renovating bus stop shelters, and embracing beach pavilion projects.
“It’s not just about cleaning up the beaches; it’s about strengthening the ties that bind us as a community and fostering a sense of responsibility towards our environment,” De Vera said. (PR)
