Palacios appoints Kiyoshi as King-Hinds’ replacement to CPA board
Gov. Arnold I. Palacios has appointed Dolores Pangelinan Kiyoshi to serve as a member of the Commonwealth Ports Authority board of directors, representing Tinian and Aguiguan.
Palacios confirmed with Saipan Tribune yesterday that Kiyoshi will replace CPA board chair Kimberlyn King-Hinds, whose term is expiring this October.
The governor said Kiyoshi previously served in the U.S. military.
Palacios has also appointed Jose C. Ayuyu and Steve King Mesngon to serve as members of the CPA board, representing Saipan and Northern Islands, and Rota, respectively.
Palacios informed Senate President Edith E. DeLeon Guerrero (D-Saipan) on Wednesday of his nomination of Kiyoshi to the CPA board.
If confirmed by the Senate, Kiyoshi will serve a staggered term, expiring on Oct. 7, 2027.
Palacios said he and Lt. Gov. David M. Apatang are confident in Kiyoshi’s leadership to carry out the function and mandates of the CPA board.
Palacios said they are confident that the nominee is qualified and will be an asset to the CPA board.
The Municipality of Tinian and Aguiguan wrote a letter recently to Palacios to re-nominate atty. King-Hinds to serve another term.
Regarding Ayuyu’s appointment, if confirmed by the Senate, he will serve a staggered term, expiring on Oct. 7, 2027.
Palacios said he and Apatang are confident that Ayuyu is qualified and will devote his time and efforts to represent the interest of the community in the board.
In confirmed by the Senate, Mesngon will serve the unexpired term of Barrie C. Toves, which will expire on Oct. 7, 2025.
Palacios said he and Apatang are confident that Mesngon’s many years of service with the private sector and government will be an asset to the CPA board.
