Pleasant Marianas weather throughout the week

The Marianas can expect fairly pleasant weather throughout the week, according to the National Weather Service in Guam.

The NWS reports in its weekly regional forecast that, with the exception of light, spotty showers, the Marianas should expect pleasant weather.

“For the Marianas, expect pleasant weather conditions with partly cloudy skies, moderate trades of 10 to 15 mph, and only spotty light showers through the weekend,” NWS reports.

The hazardous seas and high surf reported last week have also subsided.

“A moderate risk of rip currents is now expected along north, west and east facing reefs and beaches, and combined seas of 5 to 8 feet,” it said.

Fire danger is currently high for the Marianas and will continue an upward trend with the expected dry conditions. A Fire Weather Watch is possible if daytime winds are stronger than currently forecast, said NWS.

As for the drought outlook, NWS says severe drought continues to spread across the region.

“Below-normal rainfall is expected for most of the region the next few weeks, with the exception of islands closest to the equator. This will allow drought conditions to worsen for most locations in the coming weeks,” said NWS.
