Registration open for Ship Repair Bootcamp and Plumbing Bootcamp

Guam Community College Continuing Education & Workforce Development announces open registration for two bootcamps coming up this December and January. The Ship Repair Bootcamp XI will start on Monday, December 11, 2023 while the inaugural Plumbing Bootcamp will commence on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024.

Participants in the Ship Repair Bootcamp will receive training in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning I, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, and Intro to Auto Body Paint. Additional training will include Heartsaver First Aid, CPR & AED, WorkKeys®, Work Ethics, and OSHA. This bootcamp employer sponsor is Guam Ship Yard they will offer successful completers a job at the end of the program. This bootcamp has 20 open spots for those who qualify. The last day to apply for the Ship Repair bootcamp is by 5pm, Friday, Dec. 8, 2023.

The first Plumbing Bootcamp will start on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. Participants will receive training in Fundamentals of Plumbing. Additional training will include Heartsaver First Aid, CPR & AED, WorkKeys®, Work Ethics, & OSHA. There are 20 slots open to qualifiers. The employer sponsor is Guam Waterworks Authority and completers may be offered a job with the utility agency. The application deadline is Friday, January 12, 2023 by 5 p.m.

Those interested will have to meet the following requirements:

Must be Underemployed or Unemployed

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

Must be 18+ years of age

Must be able to work in the United States

Must submit police and court clearances
