Saipan Cubs Alpha Leo Club induct new set of officers

The Saipan Cubs Alpha Leo Club welcomed its new members and officers last July 27 at Mama Rio’s Cafe in Garapan.

The activity dubbed “A walk through, through the Leo Year” was attended by 35 officers and members.

According to the club’s former president Arnel Josh Villadolid Coloma, the event is to commemorate the community services done by Saipan Cub Alpha Leo Club for Leo Year 2023-2024. The event was also the club’s first general membership meeting for Leo Year 2024-2025 wherein the new set of officers were introduced.

The Saipan Cub Alpha Lions Club was chartered by Saipan Alliance Lions Club on April 27, 2022, wherein Coloma served as club president until June 30, 2024.

Coloma shared his experience and thanked the members on his outgoing speech.

“Thank you so much for all the opportunities you have given me as being the president of the club. Being the president plays a big role in the organization, without the members it won’t be successful, so I would like to give my sincerest appreciation to all of you for the support you have given. Good luck to the club’s future endeavors, please continue to let the club shine and the legacy of what are club has done in the community. We have made a huge impact not only with us, but the life of others and mostly the youth.”

The new set of officers are led by Charice Tamondong Silvano as president, Coloma as immediate past president, Jhaylin John Cruz as first vice president, Eunīce Cortez Molina as second vice president, Elline Joy Dionio Seguritan as secretary, Aaron Russell Dela Cruz Gamboa as treasurer, Celina Grace Capirihan Napitan as Club Service chairperson, Joullia San Pascual Agulto as Club Membership chairperson, John Patrick Trinidad Bangis as Club Marketing chairperson, and Jose Jeffrey Alabata Bonto as Leo tamer.

Silvano mentioned in her speech that she will be the voice of the youth and that she has a lot of projects lined up.

“First of all, I want to thank everyone who has helped and supported me to get to where I am today. I would also like to extend my sincerest appreciation to the past Saipan Cubs Alpha Leo Club officers during the Leo Year 2023-2024 for their hard work and commitment in making a difference. I feel really proud and excited to be given the position as president for Saipan Cubs Alpha Leo Club this Leo year, I have many goals this year! One of many is to definitely be the voice for our youth. As president, I look forward to help and assist the community for the better,” she said.

Members of Saipan Cubs Alpha Leo Club would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Annabel Tudela and Elena Enriquez for their dedication and commitment as being advisors of Saipan Cubs Alpha Leo Club. Their hard work and commitment have made a huge contribution to the club and the community.

New member Davin Mansilungan expressed his excitement as he said, “I feel great being a Leo and being a new member of the Saipan Cubs Alpha Leo Club. I will for sure enjoy my time being a member of the club, this club will definitely change the way I am and will help me in the future. I’m grateful to be part of this club! I’m thankful to be a Leo!”

District 204 Region 2 chair Marcelo Masilungan is one of the sponsors of the event and he talked about empowering the Leo Club.

“The Lions Clubs International president recommended that we empower Leos by giving them proper training and guidance, making sure they get involved. The young generation always has fresh ideas, they are very energetic. Sometimes their speed is over 500 miles an hour, but with continued guidance from a Lion, they will make a very good contribution in serving the community,” he said.

Saipan Cubs Alpha Leo Club is a non-profit organization ready to help and serve the community. Leo is an acronym for Leadership, Experience, Opportunity.
