Saipan Mayor’s Office, EHDP to conduct cleanup of Tanapag Cemetery
The Saipan Mayor’s Office and the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.’s Environmental Health Disease Prevention will collaborate to conduct a cleanup of Tanapag Cemetery and invites families of buried love ones to join.
The cleanup of the Tanapag Cemetery will be on Sept. 7, from 8:30am to 3:30pm. Saipan Mayor Ramon B. “RB” Camacho is calling on the families who have loved ones buried in the cemetery to join in the cleanup effort.
“This cleanup is about honoring our departed loved ones and maintaining the cleanliness of our sacred spaces,” he said.
He encourages community members to join this public-government efforts to beautify our cemeteries. The cleanup will also allow Tanapag residents to get a head start and prepare for the upcoming All Souls Day.
Those families or individuals who wish to participate in the cleanup effort must contact the Saipan Mayor’s Office at (670) 234-6208 so as to help MOS Staff calculate the number of participants and to plan accordingly. Following Tanapag Cemetery the cleanup will move on to the Chalan Kanoa Cemetery.
