Saipan exchange students visit Tokyo for fulfilling experience
Students under the Saipan Mayor’s Office International Exchange Program had a fulfilling experience during their one week stay in Tokyo, Japan.
The students participated in a wide variety of activities that allowed them to experience and appreciate the Japanese culture and life. The children stayed with Japanese host families to help them get accustomed to daily life. The students visited Tomihisa School where they visited classes and toured the school’s amenities such as the library and gym. They also got to interact and spend time with Japanese students.
The children also went on sightseeing tours around Tokyo, visiting locations such as Harajuku, Shibuya as well as areas of cultural and historical significance such as Asakusa and the Akasaka Palace.
In addition to the cultural and educational emphasis of the trip, the students also took part in recreational activities such as visiting Ueno Zoo and Disneyland.
The International Exchange Program aims to provide an opportunity for cultural and educational exchange and building good relations with our neighbors. (PR)
