Scheduled water service interruption for As Terlaje, Kannat Tabla Tank Service Areas on Aug. 21
The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. would like to inform the general public that there will be a scheduled water service interruption today, Aug. 21, 2024, for the As Terlaje and Kannat Tabla Tank Service Areas from 12pm to 4pm.
The purpose of the scheduled water service interruption is to allow CUC’s contractor, CorePlus Construction, to connect a new 6-inch PVC pipe and 8-inch Di pipes for the Model 10 Granulated Activated Carbon Filter system.
The Isley Field and Obyan Wells Granulated Activated Carbon Water Filtration System project is funded by the U.S. Economic Development Administration and the Department of the Interior, Office of Insular Affairs. This project involves installing GAC filters to mitigate the public health risks associated with PFOS and PFOA groundwater contamination. These systems will effectively remove PFOA and PFOS from the contaminated wells, reducing their concentrations below health advisory limits and ensuring higher water quality for the community.
Customers in these areas will experience low to no water pressure between the specified hours. Please allow one to two hours for the water lines to fully pressurize.
CUC apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and will continue to work diligently to provide reliable services for our customers. For more information, contact CUC’s hotline at (670) 236-4333, visit its website, and monitor its Facebook page for the latest updates.
